Bright and colorful they really are eye catching. Made in Germany in the second half of the 1800’s they have held up very well. There is loss to the gold trim on both figurines which is typical of old Conta Boehme. Her slipper and his footstool have paint loss but otherwise they look great. The faces are nicely detailed and their robes have nice folds and shadows. Two flaws, her right pinky finger and the stem of his pipe are broken, see photos 7 and 8. There are no other chips or cracks and I see no repairs. He is marked on the bottom, she is not. Both are numbered top and bottom inside the jars. Sure to make you smile, this rarely seen couple are a great addition to a collection.
