You’re purchasing a rare and unusual early 20th C (I’d guess 1910s or earlier) vintage silver plate cigar humidor. The humidor is signed Derby silver company, quadruple plate 1539. This whimsical, rare and unusual piece features an egg shape with a removable cover that has a metal cigar pipe on the top and the words “contentment be yours”. It has a deep reservoir to hold tobacco or it could also hold cigarettes. Attached to the egg shape is an adorable smaller egg with a cracked effect that is meant to hold the matches. The smaller egg is attached at the bottom to the larger egg by a wishbone in metal. This will clean up beautiful and is in great condition. I removed the tarnish on the top to demonstrate how spectacularly it will clean up. The sides and bottom would need a little more shining and it looks amazing as it is. I’ve included a video and pic with a beer can to give you an idea of scale. This is a super unusual piece for the discriminating collector. 4.5 high to from bottom to top of cigar pipe. 3.6 at widest point of egg. Engraved Champagne Bottle Form Cigar Humidor Silverplate 1890. Antique silver plated cigar humidor in form of a champagne bottle with three compartments. It has matte finish with engraved foliate decorations and inscription “Cigars” in oval frame. Made by Pairpoint Mfg. Plating and threads feature excellent condition. This incredible humidor is 2 5/8″ in bottom diameter, 1 1/4″ in top diameter and 10 1/2 tall. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering. We will be happy to assist in this. In Table Top Cabinet Form Walnut Wood. Scrolled Top w/ Finial 4 Drawers & Flip Top. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. Nice looking vintage walnut wood humidor case to use again or for decor needs. Beautiful what appears to be walnut case. The humidor has no makers mark or country of origination noted on it. Some minor loss to the finish of the humidor in places from use. The flip up lid is securely attached to the case by the hinge, as is the front door. Not old brass hinges, but metal with a brass look lacquer on them. No cracks, splits or repairs to the case or the drawers. The top drawer in the flip top are is attached to the case. The front 4 drawers all slide out easily. The case has a removable wood finial. Two knobs on the front swingaway door and then one knob on the flip up top. The inside of the case is lined with four drawers made of some lighter wood, do not think it is cedar. The humidor has no lock on the case. Some of the other accessories that come with the case are 2 cigar end cutters, a humidistat (not certain if working), 3 units that reduce humidity in plastic cases. Old Majolica Pottery Cigar Form Tobacco Jar. The brown jar is decorated in relief with cigar shapes — including the lid which also has a cigar finial. The jar center is decorated with a red ribbon. There is a faint impressed mark on the base. SIZE: 4 1/2 inches high x 3 1/4 inches wide. CONDITION: Consistent with age, the jar has some wear — wear to the red ribbon color and some of the brown color — the lid has a repaired crack that is seen from the bottom — the bottom part of the cover edge has a nick — there is wear to the rim edge of the cover and some color losses to the top cigar tips — there is a loss to the surface of one cigar on the jar body near the ribbon — wear and color loss to the jar body — all due to age and use.
