CAR DRIVER Goggles Figural Tobacco Jar Humidor Johann Maresch JM Motorist

Rare circa early 1900s Humidor Tobacco Jar Signed on the bottom with impressed JM and numbers, attributed to Johann Maresch. There are scattered paint flakes throughout. The base has some professionally repaired chips, done so well that you really have to look for it and then it’s still difficult to see. It appears to be on the top rim of the jar where the lid sits. If there are other repairs, they are not visible. Measures about 8-1/2″ tall x 5″ wide.

Show’s man in a cigar barrel tipping a stein labeled Gesundheit! Meaning health in German. A great Humidor to keep your cigars in optimal smoking condition. ANTIQUE TOBACCO JAR HUMIDOR GNOME JOHANN MARESCH TERRA COTTA c. 1890

Here we have an amazing Bernhard Bloch or Johann Maresch hand painted terra cotta tobacco jar/humidor in the form of a playful Gnome atop a toadstool, sticking out his tongue between a toothy grin at a slug crawling up the side. Fantastic detail with original patina. Numbered IV on the inside. Very good condition with some minor wear as would be expected and as can be seen in the pictures. For your consideration is another awesome, pre-war tobacco canister / smoking companion / humidor. This humidor is by Johann Maresch, I’m not sure if it’s name. A happy fellow drinking beer! The last picture is not this item, I took this picture from the internet because the markings were easier to make out. Marked Czechoslowakia (interesting spelling), made in Bohemia, the mold number 3624. The beer mug is marked Gesundheit! Perfect for the vintage tobaccianist and collector.
