A handcarved wooden black bear humidor with matching pipe. No markings that I could find. Acquired as part of an estate lot, so I know nothing of its history. It doesn’t look particularly old based on the hinge attaching the head to the body, but it also doesn’t feel modern. Very detailed piece – even the little teeth are sharp!

The humidor has carved faces on either side, one with a goatee and pipe and two side carved knob handles. Metal strap in lid holds natural sponge for humidity. Exact age and origin unknown but believe to be from the late 1800s to early 1900s Arts and Crafts Mission era. A very nice Folk Art piece with lots of character and remains functional..
