Antique Quarter Sawn Tiger Oak Chest with Brass Hardware. Antique oak chest featuring quarter sawn construction with pronounced tiger grain. Fitted with original brass corner mounts and heavy brass lift handles that open to approximately 90 degrees. The overall construction, materials, and hardware are consistent with late 19th to early 20th century workmanship. The interior is unlined. The lid lock hardware is missing and no key is present. The exterior shows a distinct, faded wide stripe pattern forming a cross across the top and extending down the sides. This appears consistent with prior contact with a covering, wrap, or material that has affected the finish over time, leaving variation in the surface coloration. The piece presents well overall with a natural aged patina and solid construction. 12″ long × 8″ wide × 7 high. Weight: 5 lb 1.3 oz. Please review all photos for condition and details.

This vintage box shows wear including tape residue on the top, a chip off the top corner, a missing key for the lock, a missing insert on the top inside, a broken glass on one (1) inside wall, discoloration, scuffs, scratches, and other wear from use and age. The box is marked “Sargent Cigar Chest”, Patented Dec. 22, 1908″, and “Bridgeport, Conn. The box measures approximately 11 1/2 inches in overall width, 8 inches wide from back to front, and 7 3/4 inches in overall height. This is a well used humidor. There are some wear marks on both the inside and out. The humidor was reconditioned with a New Cedar inside by Daniel Marshall around 2004. A great looking old humidor, nice vintage patina show signs of wear commensurate with its age. Has a cool brass opening hole handle, tight fine hinges, silver metal liner and plenty scratches. You could probably cover up with a little oil and get some corrosion on the metal wider but overall really cool piece. I think the wood is cherry, but I’m not a Serious wood guy so I’m not certain check out the photos and make your own conclusions. This antique early 20th-century cherry?
