Fantastic, historically cohesive mid-century American estate tobacco collection. Set features an original vintage wooden Humidor combo rack alongside a curated selection of iconic 20th century collectible pipes. Perfect for a holiday restoration project, a tobacciana display or adding to an established collection. Built-Rite Pick-a-Pipe Rack & Humidor Model 115. Crafted from polished hardwood with a central tobacco barrel Humidor. Pipe 1 Marshall Field de Luxe’Pot’ Pipe (Shape 126). High grade vintage contract pipe made for the iconic Chicago department store. Stamped’Field de Luxe’ on one side and Comroys shape code’126′ on the reverse. Carey’Magic Inch” smooth finish stamped”Mediterranean Briar Israel” & Pat. Grabow classic briars with the white’G’ stem logos. The wooden stand is solid with minor surface scuffs consistent with age. The interior of the Humidor jar is uncleaned. Pipes: the briarwood bowls show beautiful grain but have typical carbon cake inside and minor lava buildup on the rims. The vulcanite stems show moderate oxidation from age, which will require buffing/polishing to return t o jet black. Stemms appear structurally sound with tooth marks. If not, item will be re-listed. There is a leather label on the bottom of the humidor which reads. Marshall Field and Company – Made in West Germany. This leather circle is intact but has become partially unglued. On the bottom of the humidor, underneath the leather circle, there is a gold. (this word is almost illegible). The wooden top still retains the original sponge on the inside. A dramatic and high-spirited 18th century hunt scene is portrayed through transferware on the humidor. Vibrantly garbed noblemen on horses with dogs rushing forward in packs, set the scene against a lush and regal background. This handsome humidor is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or stains. There are a few, minute nicks to the wood cover, but are barely visible (see photos). Measurements: 5 1/4″ in height and 5″ in diameter (at the widest). We wrap all our items very carefully.
