Made by Hermes in France, fully marked, circa 1970s, very hard to find. Written on base Banco do Brasil, Paris. 1972 1982 that means it was gift from Bank of Brazil in Paris in the 1970s. 19cm wide X 12,7cm depth x 3cm high. All, original, pre-owned, has some minor wear from general usage, and general signs of age, no important damage or dents, great overall condition, please see pictures. An extremely scarce, black leather necessaire de voyage by Hermès, Paris designed to be mounted in the rear compartment of a formal motorcar. The slim case retains its original mounting brackets, features a hinged cover which provides space for cigarettes or small cigars, a match striker with match safe beneath, and a fall-front recess, with sprung looped handle, for coins or small items. A pull-out drawer with integral rests acts as the ashtray. To provide additional comfort, to the top is fitted a silver circular St. Christopher, Patron Saint of travellers. Considering that this Hermes by Ravinet DEnfert articulating silver duck box is nearly 70 years old, it’s in tremendous condition. Quite a special piece. The double wing form on top is spectacular. Once opened, its even larger in size. The head is adjustable as well. We gave this a cursory exterior polish. It can quickly be polished to an even more regal shine. HERMES PARIS and the RD makers mark are both stamped on the side. And it’s generously sized at H 3.94 in. X W 7.88 in. X D 2.84. Considering that this Hermes silver, brass and mahogany cigarette box is nearly 60years old, it’s in tremendous condition. Generously sized, it’s quite a special piece. The intertwined double-serpent form on top is spectacular. Its textured top is engine-turned. We gave this a cursory exterior polish. It can quickly be polished to an even more regal shine. HERMES PARIS Made in France is stamped on the side. Additionally, there is another imprint stamped in between (please see photos). The mahogany wood-lined interior is gorgeous, and free of imperfections. Its removable dividers are tight and in place. And it’s generously sized at H. X W 8.75 in. X D 5.75 in.
