This is an antique Nippon horse humidor jar from Morimura, the company that later became Noritake. It has applied smoking implements including a pipe, cigar, cigarettes, and matches. The background color is smoke gray. The lid and top of the jar are decorated with a moriage swag and pendant decoration. It is signed on the bottom with a green’M’ Morimura Brothers Nippon mark that according to the internet dates to about 1910 – 1911. There is also a hand-painted Asian character mark or signature on the rim of the jar. The jar needs restoration as there is a long crack that runs down from the top edge down through and past the cigar. The jar sounds cracked when tapped, it is not a tight hairline.
