Unique antique oak humidor. The name tag on top has a name & date of 1938, when disassembling to polish I found the original name & date on the flip-side. All corners were polished, several coats of lacquer on the oak. Tracking down the name I found something fascinating. Osterman was a notable individual primarily known for his work as the Field Secretary for the Lincoln Highway Association. Beautifully refinished solid mahogany cigar humidor. Measures 10 7/8″ long x 7 1/4″ deep x 4 1/4 tall. Inside is 9 1/2″ long x 6″ deep x 3 1/2 tall. Sides are 3/8 thick mahogany and assembled using a splined miter joint. 90º hinges in good working order. Exterior refinished with MinWax Satin Varnish and hand polished to a soft luster with 0000 steel wool and paste wax. Inside bottom and lid are lined with white painted glass. Sides are lined with unfinished mahogany. Engraving plate is blank. Grooves inside lid for humidifier strip. Lid fits tightly to base.
