This silver box is an elegant, hallmarked vintage silver on copper cigar / cigarette humidor box with a cedar lining made by Friedrich Silver Co. Of Brooklyn, NY most likely in the 1930s. It features a unique design with a rearing lion / griffen engraved on the top of the lid and has four ball feet. The lid hangs over the box, making it easy to lift. Them box’s shows design adds to its value and aesthetic appeal an dit shows well. The hinges work well. This is a great collectable. The box weights 321 grams, so is of substantial weight. The Friedman Silver Co of Brooklyn, New York was established by Joseph Friedman in 1908, and in 1960 was acquired by Gorham. Exterior 5.25″ Long x 3.75″ Deep 1.25 Tall. Interior 5″ Long x 3″W Deep with a cedar wood liner.

Rare, antique, silverplate/ quadruple plate, cigar/ cigarette/ tobacco/ smoking box. Gorgeous and unique, this box is oval, the lid lifts up and holds a round mirror (more likely held an ashtray previously). The bottom half has built in spots for perhaps tobacco, ashtray, cutter, matches and cigar. The lid has engraved garland and bow with the monogram “CMS”. The bottom has 4 ball feet. This box is so much lovelier in person than in pictures as it’s still very shiny. I’ This box is perfect for use on your desk, in office, bar top, etc. Measurements: approx 8 1/4″ long x 6 1/2″ wide x 3 1/2 tall. Marks: Colonial Silver Co Quadruple Plate Portland Me 1360. This inkwell is in good antique condition. May have typical signs of vintage use such as slight surface scratches, plating wear, more near the etchings (not obvious at all, looks way better in person than in pictures). My pictures aren’t doctored to hide flaws so please use photos as part of the description. My items are antique and vintage. They have been loved through the years and most likely will show such. Up for sale is a very nice quality antique porcelain tobacco jar. The jar has a very detailed hand painted floral design which is heavily embossed and finished with a sheen glaze. It has a silver-plated top with a removable lid that sits recessed in the base. It is hallmarked on the side and the handle pivots back and forth on its mounts.
