Fabulous antique airtight lid! The lid is ceramic and has a very old (hard and dried) rubberized gasket that would have sealed tightly into the jar by way of a brass twist-and-screw mechanism, which you can see in the pictures. Very good antique condition – I see no cracks or hairlines. There are a few very minor (and very old) chips on the rim. The rubber gasket is dried and cracked from age. The metal brass mechanism is discolored. What an amazing gift this would be for your friend who collects tobacciana!
