This has a great look to it and is very old. There is some crazing to the finish and some chipping as you can see from the pics. There may be some scratching or surface wear from age which is to be expected. Please see all photos for details and feel free to ask any questions. This piece measures 8″ tall by 7″ wide. Please keep in mind that the majority of the items in my store are used, vintage or antique. I try to list every item accurately and to the best of my ability including any damage that I may find. There may be surface wear, scuffing or minor things to items that would come with normal use so if there is something specific you are concerned about please ask. Antique Humidor, W&R Carlton Ware Humidor, Tobacciana, Cheltenham College

C 1890 ceramic stoneware humidor tobacciana Still smells like its original tobacco! Made by W & R Stoke-on-Kent Carlton Ware. Ceramic lid, brown glaze, textured ceramic exterior, ceramic and metal lid Porcelain shield says in Latin: Disce Ut Doceas / Cheltenham Training College “Learn in order to Teach, ” so perhaps it was a college for future teachers. Fabulous antique airtight lid! The lid is ceramic and has a very old (hard and dried) rubberized gasket that would have sealed tightly into the jar by way of a brass twist-and-screw mechanism, which you can see in the pictures. Very good antique condition – I see no cracks or hairlines. There are a few very minor (and very old) chips on the rim. The rubber gasket is dried and cracked from age. The metal brass mechanism is discolored. What an amazing gift this would be for your friend who collects tobacciana! 1900’s Majolica Tobacco Humidor, Boy Figural Tobacciana

Majolica Tobacco Humidor, 1900’s Boy Figural Tobacciana. 1900’s Antique Austrian Majolica Tobacco Humidor, Young Turban Boy. No Major Cracks, Repairs. Two minor chips around the rim. Made in Austria and parts of what is now modern Germany and are often called Berlin Majolica. Most of the originals were made from about 1880 up until the first World War, ca. 1914, when production ceased. The difference between the majolica originals and the Reproductions are the type of clay and the glaze. All the new pieces are made of a thick heavy reddish tan clay. This distinctive color is obvious in the unglazed bases and the unglazed rims of the lid and top rim. By contrast, the original majolica glazed pieces are made of a nearly pure white clay. The white clay of originals is apparent in the unglazed bases and rims as well as through the nicks and chips almost always found on vintage humidors. 5.5″ Height including lid3.75″ Length at Base4.25 Width at Base.

VINTAGE PIPE TOBACCO BOX. This is one of the Finest Tobacco Boxes I’ve had in several years. It has Two Lids with Brass Piano Hinges. They Open Wide so you can get your hand AND your pipe in the box at the same time. This makes it easy to fill and tamp your bowl without spilling tobacco in your office or lounge. The wood looks like pecan. The Tobacco Box is 8″ X 11″ X 5 1/2 deep. It is from an Italian Immigrant’s Estate.
