Antique Victorian Box re purposed as a Cigar Humidor Circa 1880. Approx Size: 14″ x 9.25″ x 12. Great overall antique condition. Originally a writing slope, it has been re-purposed as cigar humidor and ceder wood lining has been added later to the interior. Original lock and key. There are two filters in the lid to regulate humidity, these will likely need new filters to function. Good large size and a good conversion. Monogram to the inlaid mother of pearl. Rare quality antique 1800s Victorian handmade floral wood box sculpture folk art

Up for sale is a rare antique 19th century handmade V ictorian Folk Art wooden box. The box is made of a wooden base and finished with a lovely polychromed brown finish. It’s embellished with hand sculpted detailing throughout done with a very dimensional approach and features berries and flowers. It has a skeleton key locking mechanism but does not have a key. The box is in nice antique condition and measures 17 inches long by 9 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches tall. It is missing some sculpted pieces and has some cracking and chips as shown in all photos. Where humidors were made in an endless variety of shapes and forms, the animals are the ones that have retained their popularity. Original condition the sponge in the lid for the humidor is newer not original it can be removed or kept in place. Wear is consistent with age in history of the peace. Material, Majolica Animal Humidors. Mother pig carrying her three little ones piggy-back style! Probably made in either Germany or the UK, this is a finely crafted, RARE ceramic piece in unusually excellent condition for its age. Can find no cracks, chips or crazing. These charming pieces were made by several different companies on the European continent, largely in Germany, Austria, France and Czechoslovakia.
