Antique Bernhard Bloch Austria Figural Tobacco Jar Humidor 6 HMS Sailor/Seaman

For consideration is an antique, circa 1900, Bernhard Bloch, Austria figural tobacco jar humidor of a HMS sailor/seaman. It is hand decorated and made of pottery. 6″ in height 4′” across its base and weighs 1 lb 5 oz. Its bottom is marked as in the attached photo. The tobacco jar is in very good original “antique condition” with signs of age, wear and use. It has paint wear and some minor chipping. It is free of cracks and repairs/restoration. Complete with its original metal embossed advertising lid which is beautifully and ornately decorated in the Art Nouveau style. Antique Victorian Box re purposed as a Cigar Humidor Circa 1880. Approx Size: 14″ x 9.25″ x 12. Great overall antique condition. Originally a writing slope, it has been re-purposed as cigar humidor and ceder wood lining has been added later to the interior. Original lock and key. There are two filters in the lid to regulate humidity, these will likely need new filters to function. Good large size and a good conversion. Monogram to the inlaid mother of pearl.
