This scarce 1940s cardboard “Optimo Kings” 25 humidor cigar canister, measuring 5 3/4″ x 4″ is in excellent condition. Most of the original color remains. There is some very minor age related staining on the bottom rim. The cigars were manufactured by A. Santaella & Company, Tampa. Fl in Factory 4, Coll District, Fl. This striking white tin features multicolored images. The front has a portrait of Spanish-born Antonio Santaella wearing a panama hat with palm trees and straw huts in the background. On the reverse is the Santaella Company in Tampa, FL. A label on the canister explains that it is made of cardboard in compliance with the O. M ban on using tin during the WWII Emergency.
