This is a fabulous 19th Century Continental very heavy 7 1/2 pounds ornate brass or bronze humidor box from one of the finest families in my hometown. Measures 11″ by 6″ by 3 3/4 and features birds done in an Art Nouveau or maybe an Oriental design. It snaps shut nicely. Below that looks like a lock but the box did not come with a key. Has a makers hallmark on the bottom which looks like a W. I originally thought it was Erhard & Sohne but this would not be their mark. The inside has a wooden base which had an old rubber band residue I mostly removed. The lid has its original metal insert designed to keep moisture in the box for cigars freshness. The brass or bronze patina is very nice with just a bit of tarnish from sitting around. You will love condition, craftmanship and lovely design. Very lovely in person.

Art Deco Novelty Cigar Box. From our boxes collection, we are delighted to offer this novelty cigar humidor from the Art Deco period. The box of oblong shape with a ribbed exterior crafted from Birchwood Bark with a fantastic Novelty lid housing eight Cabinet extra fine cigars. When opened the humidor reveals a maple lining perfect for storing your cigars. The box dates to the late Art Deco period circa 1935. Birch grows in parts of Northern Europe, Asia and North America. It is an almost white wood that with age will appear more yellow, with a very subtle grain giving a clean look to the wood. Here’s a scarce antique Blue Ribbon Havana Cigars glass cigar jar from St. Louis that is over 110 years old…. Complete with its original metal lid! … BLUE RIBBON HAVANA CIGARS GEO. LOUIS, MO all boldly emb on front in large fancy ceraph letters…. 73 1ST DISTRICT STATE OF MISSOURI 50 CIGARS all embossed on bottom… Early machine made jar…. Threaded wide mouth with original metal lid… Clear (but would turn amethyst as it glows brightly under blacklight)….. 5 1/4″tall x 5 3/8″across lid….. Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean jar with only some faint inside haze. This is a hard to find cigar jar from the 1890s or early 1900 period…….
