Antique Late 1800’s Black Americana Young Boy Porcelain Tobacco Jar measuring 4 1/2″ high and 3 3/4″ wide as shown in our photos. We checked this jar over closely and there are NO chips, cracks or repairs. It’s very dusty and shows generations of a nice patina. The subject matter is interesting with the young black boy calling out. His facial expression is well defined and this is really an exceptional piece of art by a talented pottery maker. It is unsigned and quite clean on the inside. The top of the head removes very easily and fits well making this a terrific tobacco jar for display in someone’s collection. We have checked for weeks and can not find another example like this one so if may be a one of a kind porcelain jar.
