1850s Victorian Cigar Burr Walnut Wood Cabinet Box Brass Escutcheons 12.75H
This listing is for a charming mid 19th century Victorian cigar cabinet. It showcases beautiful cuts of burr Walnut and other woods, with gorgeous grain and a warm, rich coffee color. The cabinet features three drawers that actuate with ease, each retaining their original bin. The top drawer has an adjustable / removable divider. This divider is missing from the two lower drawers. The fronts of the drawers have matching cast brass handles. With the drawers measuring 5 depth, the cabinet works well for the Robusto or similar shorter cigars, which are a very popular size. Dating to the 1850s, it certainly adds a touch of history to any collection. It measures about 12.75″ high x 12.9″ diameter with the doors open x 8 depth. Easy to display on a shelf or tabletop. This is not officially a humidor as these are modern inventions to regulate the humidity. Cedar linings did this job well over 100 years ago. We do not have the key for the right door which allows the drawers to be accessed. The door is presently unlocked, making the drawers accessible. The left door has a sliding lock which is in working order. With the lock slid up to keep the door shut, it keeps the drawers closed. This piece, while truly awesome, does have frets around rim. View photos for any and all condition issues.
