1900, majolica tobacco jar/humidor – Boy on Melon. Numbers “6697” impressed on bottom. Painted areas of skin and hair show expected rub losses. There is a small (1/4 inch) shallow flat chip near his left knee. 3/8 inch chip at tip of his cap. Just over 10 inches tall overall.

Austrian Metallica Amphora Native American Indian Humidor Tobacco Jar

Austrian Metallica Amphora Native American Indian Humidor Tobacco Jar. Now you will find reproductions of these floating on the internet hand-painted completely in the 1980s they are reproductions of this Austrian soft paste porcelain humidor. And easy to spot when compared to this. No the paint is not worn off that is the way it was made the paint is under the glaze on this one. There is no 1983 or 85 date on the bottom so if you are an antique purest collector this is your piece. The only damage I could see was a little tiny flake on of the winged finial on the ear and on the other ear of each but they are very tiny as you can see. Typically you would put a damp sponge in the lid and it would keep the tobacco inside moist and fresh. This piece measures 12 and 1/4 in tall. Unusual Austrian Figural Tobacco Humidor Cowboy / Westerner Bust 19th Century

Highly unusual figural character tobacco humidor in the form of a Cowboy or Westerner figure. Probably Austrian made due to its finer details – this item is made just like the early bisque fairly lamps that were cats and dogs with marble eyes (this item does not have marble eyes). Item is all original but has a few factory things to note – inside of mouth has a pulled crack from factory, it was made that way (see close up of mouth) – and his left eye-lid has a factory pull mark to it as well. Both marks are factory and not damage per-say. As seen, the humidor sponge would fit into his oversized hat – item has superb detail and great colors – no chips or other noted issues.
