This is a great circa 1900 advertising cigar container for the EUGENE VALLENS & Co’s. CHOICE CIGARS of New York City. The container is Art nouveau style & has a heavy glass body and a nickel lid with beautifully embossed leaves and flowers surrounding the company’s name – Approximately 5-1/2″ in height by 5″ in diameter – Ribbed Glass & nickel? It looks like a brass lid from the top but it is silver on the underside – Removeable lid Lifts Up – FACTORY NO. 50 on bottom of glass – The container has no chips or cracks but there are some scratches on the glass – There is some tarnish and small spots of oxidation & a couple of small dents on the edge of the lid.
