EUGENE VALLENS & CO’s HUMIDOR CHOICE CIGARS 5 1/2tx5w Ribbed Glass Nickel Lid

This is a great circa 1900 advertising cigar container for the EUGENE VALLENS & Co’s. CHOICE CIGARS of New York City. The container is Art nouveau style & has a heavy glass body and a nickel lid with beautifully embossed leaves and flowers surrounding the company’s name – Approximately 5-1/2″ in height by 5″ in diameter – Ribbed Glass & nickel? It looks like a brass lid from the top but it is silver on the underside – Removeable lid Lifts Up – FACTORY NO. 50 on bottom of glass – The container has no chips or cracks but there are some scratches on the glass – There is some tarnish and small spots of oxidation & a couple of small dents on the edge of the lid. Eugene Vallens & Co’s Choice Cigars Ribbed Glass Humidor Circa 1915

Eugene Vallens & Co’s Choice Cigars Ribbed Glass Humidor Circa 1915. From what i could find this is roughly a 1915 Cigar/ Tabbacoo holder. Antique Eugene Vallens Choice Cigars heavy glass 18 paneled humidor with ornate lid. Bottom of humidor has cast markings Factory No. 6’50’ 1st Dist. –5″ in diameter and 5″ in height, no cracks in glass or lid— lid fits snugly. Vallens, who was a resident of this city at his death, founded Vallens & Co. Cigar manufacturers, in Chicago fifty years ago. The company was later merged with the Havana-American Cigar Company, of which he became president, and the sonsolidated concern was in turn taken over by the American Tobacco Company. Vallens collaborated with President McKinley on the tobacco section of the McKinley bill.

Vintage Original The Havana-American Co’s Cigar Glass Jar Humidor. Jar Embossed: Factory No. I’m not sure if the lid is silver or silver plated? I didnt see any markings. Jar is 5″x5″, 5.5 with Lid. Couple dings in the lid. See Pictures As Part of the Description.
