Here is a gorgeous antique cedar lined humidor made of heavy cast bronze/brass. It measures 7-1/8 inches long, 6-1/8 inches deep, and is 3-1/2 inches tall. It is entirely decorated in Greco-Roman relief vignettes depicting soldiers on horseback, courting couples, a god and goddess like figures, framed in ornate decorative geometric designs. It is in excellent condition with original patina. These boxes were often silvered, but I do not see any traces and can’t imagine how it would wear off so completely with all the peaks and valleys. It does not have a maker’s mark or any other marks to indicate its origin, but I have seen similarly decorated boxes marked Made in Belgium. Please review the photos for a complete description. We do not know color or clarity, and do not know natural from heated, enhanced, or synthetic. We either rely upon marks for metal purity, or test for gold content. Whatever we say the metal purity is 14K, 18K, 925 Sterling, etc. We do not collect these items, and we are NOT experts in the field. We appreciate any information you may have to assist us in identifying, or toward providing a more accurate description, but we do require some authority for the information.
