Victorian Era Cigar Box. “Rogers Smith Meriden CT Quadruple 2X USA”. This lovely box has 2 cherubs holding up a candle stick. Doves and garland decorate the sides of the box. And sits on 4 ball feet. There are 4 hinged lids, the 2 large sides have a lock (no key). This is a heavy piece, it measures 11.5″ long x 8″ deep x 10 tall. The metal looks like brass, but the scratches on the bottom of feet and a few areas look silver. This does have some tarnish and wear. But is still a beautiful piece for its age. Antique Victorian Oak & Brass Cigarette & Cigar box, Humidor, Lockable with key

Antique Victorian Oak & Brass Cigarette & Cigar box or humidor, complete with working lock and key. Please note to operate, the lock needs to be held open using the key (unlocked) before the lids are replaced (pushed down against the spring loaded mechanism) before releasing the key to lock the lids in place. They cannot be pushed shut without doing this. To unlock simply turn the key and both lids will pop up by a small amount. This is a very old and much loved piece, there have been repairs and modifications over it’s long life which include a repair/replacement to one lids latch (right hand side) and a piece of wood cut in under the left hand side of the lock body as well as some small patches of wood stain or paint. These are all done with charm and add to the story of this functional but beautiful addition to anyones collection. A small drawer with a brass handle has also been added at some point to the front, to store matches perhaps? Making this a unique item. There are two wooden cedar? Lined compartments and it has a brass carry handle, two engraved brass plaques on the lids read cigarettes and cigars. The corner decorations are plated brass, as are the hinges, and there is a brass escutcheon to the lock. Size is 9 and 1/2 inches wide x 6 and 3/16 inches deep x 4 inches in height. SUPERB and RARE large antique Victorian Edwardian Mahogany Humidor / Cigar Box

SUPERB large ANTIQUE Mahogany CIGAR humidor/box. Hi and welcome to my listing for this wonderful antique Edwardian cigar box. Pieces like this’ in this condition are becoming increasingly hard to find and it is a lovely example. The box is made from Mahogany. It has the word Cigar in white metal attached to the top of the lid and four plaques around the edge of the lid (note – the plaques have no inscriptions so the new owner could get these engraved if they so wished). There is also a lock (sadly no key). The box measures (externally) 11 inches (280 mm) long X 7 inches (180 mm) wide and stands 4.25 inches (110 mm) high. Internally the box has a sectional, non-removable lining with three possible positions for the dividing piece. The total internal length is 9 inches (228 mm), width 5 inches (125 mm) with the depth being about 2.5 inches (60 mm). The dividing strip may be placed in the middle or 3.25 inches (80 mm) in from either end which would give just over 5.5 inches (142 mm) for the larger section. I’d say the box is in very good/excellent condition for it’s age – the bottom of the box is not finished off as well as the main body or internal section so perhaps there was a felt base on the piece originally (there is a small remnant of some covering). Overall a superb original example would look great on a desk or study. Very stylish and usable and could even be used as a presentation piece with the plaques around the lid. ANTIQUE TOBACCO Shaggy Begging Dog Jar Pot Victorian 19th Ceramic Figure Statue

German i would think c1880. It has an aged metallic gold finish. Someone put paint on the inside perhaps it smelled of old tobacco and they wanted to use it for something else. Small bits of red paint here and there on outside a little greeny white paint left foot. Small imperfections chip on left ear all not very noticeable. Stamped on the bottom dark brown pottery. Not mint or perfect but it is late Victorian but it is pretty dam cute, and i like his little padlock on the collar.
