Condition: I would consider this to be in near mint condition for its age. Sits about 6 tall with the lid on it. You can still see the nippon mark. Please zoom in on all pictures and feel free to ask questions. If you would like me to send you more photos I would be more than happy to do so. Beautiful and hard-to-find antique porcelain Van Patten Mark #47 humidor featuring a detailed hand-painted horse portrait framed by bridled reins and a horseshoe motif. Decorated in classic Nippon style with raised moriage beadwork, enameled accents, and fine gilt detailing around the edges and base. Marked on the bottom with the green “M in wreath” Nippon backstamp, used by the Morimura Brothers for export porcelain made between 1911 and 1921. This piece is part of a scarce matching equestrian-themed Nippon series. Originally used to store tobacco, this humidor displays beautifully and is highly collectible – perfect for Nippon collectors, equestrian decor fans, or antique smoking accessory enthusiasts.
