UP FOR SALE IS A BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE GLASS TOBACCO JAR HUMIDOR WITH METAL LID. THERE IS A PIPE SHAPE ATTACHED TO THE LID FOR HOLDING MATCHES. I THINK THIS LID MAY BE SILVER PLATE??? IT IS MARKED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LID WITH 808. THE GLASS JAR STARTS OUT WITH A PALE YELLOW COLOR AT THE TOP AND THEN GOES TO A BEAUTIFUL GREEN ALL THE REST OF THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL. DECORATED WITH PIPES, CIGARS, AND MATCHES. I CANNOT FIND ANY OTHER MARKINGS ON THE GLASS OR THE METAL LID. MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 6 TALL TO THE TOP OF THE PIPE ON THE LID. THE LARGEST DIAMETER ACROSS THE JAR IS APPROXIMATELY 6. LEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS. The top of his fez is open so it would probably take matches and the top banded rim of the barrel is probably the strike surface. Late 19ht or Early 20th C. Measures: 6 3/4″ tall by 3 1/2″ across widest point by 3 1/2 deep Marked: see photo (only a number 4 on bottom, I would assume it is French) Condition: Very Good/Good (chips to rim). On the front of this large, antique Black Forest Humidor is a carved, Falconer holding his Falcon in one hand while holding a basket of birds in the other, after a day of hunting. This circa-1890s Carved Pipe Tobacco Humidor measures 10 ¼ by 7 ½ square and at the back is a draw for storing your pipes. Attached to this drawer is a carved wood cup for matches. The back of the draw is painted with a finish that is very rough so you can strike your match. Overall this late 19th century, Black Forest Pipe Tobacco Humidor is in wonderful original condition. There is a shrinkage separation on the left side that is strong, but that it. Antiques, Fine Art & Collectibles. Antique Sarreguemines Porcelain Humidor Cigar Holder French Majolica Unpainted. DESCRIPTION Amusing Majolica monkey pianist tobacco jar made by Sarreguemines around 1880. Rarely found complete with his lid the chimpanzee wears pants, jacket and cravat. As he sits at the piano with his dour face there are music sheets strewn around by his feet and two books titled “opera” and themes. The stoneware cigar holder humidor is usually painted and was a factory blank. It is marked on the underside with the shape number of 231 only. This is a good example of anthromorphic art in porcelain and often called the “Music-loving Monkey” or “Monkey on the piano” by collectors. Stamped: 231 This would suit any vintage coffee table, porcelain collection. A great housewarming or early birthday gift idea. MEASUREMENTS Porcelain humidor measures 8″ tall by 5″ deep by 9 wide and weighs 3lb 10oz. CONDITION In good usable condition and ready to display. There is a large chip from lid at the top of the piano, another edge is chipped, a third edge has a crack in it and the vase on top is chipped. There is also a missing chip from the bottom edge near the foot and his tail is missing (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description). Up for sale is a high quality antique 1908 wooden smoking pipe stand. It’s made by hand with elaborate detailing featuring hand tooled tole metal panels on the doors done in high relief. They have a lovely bronze handle and open on hinges exposing the interior. The lid has a sterling silver badge with hand engraved initials/dated and the lid locks the doors when it is shut. Inside has a section for 6 pipes and has three drawers with ornate gilt bronze handles. One of the drawers also has a carved bone inlaid name plate. It’s in great condition and measures 16 1/2 inches long by 12 inches tall by 8 1/2 inches wide. Early C20th mahogany Dunhill “Airtight” cigar humidor, cylindrical on shape with twelve (dodecagon) cut sides above three bun shaped wooded feet. The one piece turned bevelled edged mahogany lid lifts off to reveal the lead weight airtight seal with Dunhills PATENT number 11832/13 together with the London address and the silver foil lined interior of the case. The lid has been turned out of one piece of wood. Dia 15.8cm widest point. Light wear overall, the lid showing a more visible tiny scuff. The cigar box which has a lovely polished patina to the mahogany is excellent.
