Unique antique oak humidor. The name tag on top has a name & date of 1938, when disassembling to polish I found the original name & date on the flip-side. All corners were polished, several coats of lacquer on the oak. Tracking down the name I found something fascinating. Osterman was a notable individual primarily known for his work as the Field Secretary for the Lincoln Highway Association. While the provided snippets mention the year 1907 in relation to him returning to Deadwood, South Dakota, his significant historical impact largely involves activities after this date, specifically in the planning and promotion of the transcontinental Lincoln Highway. In 1907, he was mentioned in the Engineering and Mining Journal as being in Deadwood, South Dakota, at a time when mining dividends were a major topic. Later in his career, he became a prominent figure in early American automobile touring and infrastructure development, playing a crucial role in. Mapping routes for the nascent U. Promoting the Lincoln Highway as America’s first coast-to-coast road. I cannot guarantee he was the owner of this box, but hours of searching, this is the only H. Osterman I could find. Box size: 12″ wide, 8″ deep, 7 tall. Box weighs 6 pounds, 10 oz. No Key available, a good locksmith could make one.
