Antique Mahogany Art Deco Tobacco Humidor Smoking Stand Cabinet Pipe Cigar Table

Beautiful antique smoking cabinet/humidor with lower bookshelf. Fantastic Art Deco style with the centered large knob and inlaid details on the drawer. The interior of the cabinet is lined in copper. Cabinet is perfect as a humidor or use as a small a small accent end or bedside table. It measures 12 7/8″ wide x 10 1/4″ deep x 26 tall overall. The top is 10 1/2″ x 10 1/4″. The inside of the cabinet is 11″ x 8 1/2″ x 9 1/4. The book shelf is 11″ x 6 1/2″ x 10 1/2 tall. Cabinet is strong and sturdy with no cracks, splits or chips. SMOKING MAN WITH FEZ. This is a rare Antique Austrian Majolica SMOKING MAN WITH FEZ TOBACCO JAR Humidor art pottery. It is in the form of the head bust of a 19. Smoking a stogie (cigar). He has brown hair, and is wearing a. The hat serves as a lid, with a recessed area to put a sponge or piece of apple to keep the tobacco moist. This is an elegant storage jar for tobacco or other small items. The modeling of this SMOKING MAN WITH FEZ Tobacco Jar is masterfully done, capturing great character. The colors are deep and the painting and glazes are very well done. The interior of the bottom jar is. Unglazed in white; the bottom of the jar (base) is glazed. With unglazed rim foot. The underside and inside of the cap lid are unglazed. The underside of the. Stamped with impressed mark. 17; and 57 marked in black. This SMOKING MAN WITH FEZ Figural Tobacco Jar is in very good condition. Condition status includes minimal normal wear and rubbing, glaze losses, firing flaws, crazing and fretting. Overall, this item is sound, having no chips, cracks, or major defects, and having had no apparent repairs or restorations. It is noted that old Austrian Majolica is not inherently “perfect” – pieces were mold formed by hand in this era and as such have marks like little dents in the pottery which are glazed over. This isn’t damage- this is part of the history of old majolica pottery and how it was made. Please see all photos which are a part of this description. This type of old art pottery is known as Austrian Majolica. Antique Vintage Smoker Tobacco Smoking Stand Humidor Table. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL PIECE that could use a gentle reconditioning (especially the top) but is very nice even as is (examine pictures as they are part of description). There aren’t any identifiers as to manufacture or age, but it’s been in my family since around 1940 or so, and according to the story, my grandfather’s parents bought it used! The inside is a thin sheet of copper, which I’m told was to insure that pipe placed in there wouldn’t burn house (or even table) down! Measurements are- 24″ tall, 13 1/4″ wide, 11 deep. This is from the early 1920s and that makes it almost a true Antique (100 YEARS OLD). It is made of Walnut Wood with carved legs, skirt and two side crest. The interior is lined with copper sheating. There is aInlaid pattern on the door. The finish is a dark walnut. There is a full length scratch across the top. There is a missing large wood chip below the left side crest.
