Extraordinary High Quality Solid Wood Humidor/Treasure Box- Savinelli Adorini

If you have looked at modern humidors and are dissatisfied with the quality, you will love this guy. It is a large, solid hardwood Humidor lined on the bottom with cedar. Our guess is that it is made of some variety of mahogany but that could be wrong. The solid wood is over 5/8 of an inch thick and is on all sides and top. You can see the wood grain on the lid has the same pattern on the top surface and on the inside of the lid. Perfectly fitted rabbit joints are on each corner and there is virtually no warpage anywhere. It is also simply huge, measuring 18 inches long, 11.5 inches wide, and 7.5 inches high. It has a lift out cedar tray and moveable cedar dividers inside. It comes with a Credo Hydrometer, a de Marco Umidata Italia 70 humidifier, a leather cigar case, and a cigar cutter. With everything, it weighs nearly 13 pounds. One made by Adorini was the most similar. We are not experts on Humidors but believe this one to be made by skilled craftsmen to the highest of quality standards. Please examine each photo for yourself. Please let us know if you recognize its maker. Phillips head screws indicate it is not an antique but we have no idea of its age. It is in wonderful, like new condition with the only flaw we could note was a bit of marring on one side that a bit of wax would make invisible. Our pricing is a total guess and we invite an offer or any information you might have about it.

Vintage Decatur Industries Solid Walnut Humidor-Cedar Lining

This is a solid Walnut Humidor made by the Decatur Industries Company of Decatur, Illinois. It is lined with solid cedar on the top and bottom. Inside it still has the original humidifier, and also, the original Decatur Industries hygrometer, and thermostat. You might note in the photos that they had them imported from France. The Humidor is large, bigger than any Decatur Industries humidors that we have encountered. It measures nearly 14.5 inches long, 9.25 inches wide, and. 6.25 inches tall. It weighs over 7 pounds. Decatur Industries of Decatur, Indiana, made a variety of solid wood tobacco accessories during the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s, and possibly later. The Company history is a bit sketchy but they made a quality product for the time, always using solid wood, usually walnut. This Humidor is a bit unusual for its size, its design, and for being in such good condition. It is not perfect, having a few tiny blemishes, some marring, small dents, water marks on the top, all shown in the photos, but for its age, over 50 years old, it is doing pretty well. Note: Most, if not all of the imperfections could easily be sanded, or buffed with steel wool and removed, but we left it as we found it. We thought a collector of vintage humidors might find it of interest.
