ANTIQUE ART DECO AMBOYNA BURR WOOD CIGAR HUMIDOR, & CIGAR CUTTERS, DUNHILL STYLE. A very handsome antique amboyna burr wood cigar humidor. Dating to the first half of the 20th Century. The superb quality box, in the manner of Dunhill but with no identifying makers mark. Is veneered in rich amboyna burr wood with cedar wood lining and two internal compartments. The lid houses the brass mounted humidifier. The internal fitments, hinges and lock are also brass, the lock marked’SECURE LEVER, D&SL’. The original key is provided for the fully working lock. The base is covered with black fabric. A gilt metal plaque with the initials’EGT’ in Art Deco script is attached to the. The box contains a pair of gold coloured scissor action cigar cutters by CTS Solingen, contained in a leather pouch. Height: 13.5 cm or 5 1/4 inches. Depth: 21.6 cm or 8 1/2 inches. Width : 24.2 cm or 9 1/2 inches. Length cutters: 8.6 cm or 3 3/8 inches. Unpackaged Weight: 2200 grams. In good antique condition, with expected age related light wear and signs of use to the outer surface. Internal humidifier will need re-charging.
