This is a wonderful and rare 19th Century Figural Majolica Tobacco Jar – It is an elephant in a pink jacket with a brown pipe in its mouth. It is said these jars were made in Austria and Germany and were often given out as prizes at fairs and festivals. He stands approx 7 inches tall. He has two slight chips, not unusual given his age, but they don’t take away at all from his appearance. Pls look at pics closely.
