Rare French Victorian & Bronze Dog Humidor With Match Safe & Stricker

This humidor is just awesome! Its a bronze dog in the dog house! To the right of the dog in the window, there is a gilt bronze Wisteria vine and to the left of it is a pull chain. When you pull down the pull, it opens the top of the humidor and also opens the door to find the match holder. The top opens but the door is missing a bracket and does not open now. This box is in need of some repair but it is so unusual that it is a “must have” for the pipe smoker! It is missing some molding and also in a couple of spots it is missing some veneer, but all of this can be fixed. The bronze trellis and the dog are very detailed and they have a beautiful patina. The gilt bronze trellis has retained almost all of its gilding and color. Inside the humidor is a silvered paper that surrounded the tobacco and part of it came loose and is lost. The box stands about. 7 1/2″ high by about 6 1/2″ wide by 8 deep. A wonderful humidor to add to your collection or home decor! Rare NAPOLEON III FRENCH EMPIRE Gilt Metal & Burlwood Musical Humidor c. Rare NAPOLEON III FRENCH EMPIRE Gilt Metal & Burlwood Musical Humidor, circa 1870s. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a Napoleon III Gilt Metal and Burlwood Mounted Musical Humidor of hexagonal form, opening to a mirrored interior. The piece is finely inlaid with metals and natural materials, and was made c. When the top mechanism is turned, music plays and the doors swing open to display the contents (24 cigars). The piece is 11″ tall, and 6″ wide. Overall, the piece is in excellent condition. Two doors of the humidor do not open when the knob is turned, however are easy to open by hand once the rest of the doors are also open. The top piece (which, when turned, opens the doors) is somewhat loose This is likely an easy fix as it is likely a detached wire. There are three pieces of metal inlay missing from the top of the humidor, and one piece of inlay from the top of one door, see photos. Additionally, some of the metal decoration to the sides of the knob is missing, see photo. One door of the humidor remains slightly open when the rest are closed, see photo. Finally, three of the gilt cigar holders on the inside of the humidor doors are missing their bottom sections. The music box appears to be in goof functioning order. Rare 19th Century French Antique Napoleon III Music Box Humidor

Rare 19th Century French Antique Napoleon III Music Box Humidor. This marvelous piece intrigues and delights. Made of black lacquered wood with a beautiful red-tinted patina on the doors. Hexagon in shape, the humidor opens by 6 doors. Each door is adorned on the outside with a lyre. The inside of each door displays floral motif mounts with three rings and a lower plate to hold cigars. The humidor sits atop an undulating base decorated with two studded garlands. Garlands also adorn the top of the humidor and the knob that was once used to open the doors (now only one door opens using the knob, the others must be opened manually). A lever on the side of the base starts and stops the music. The music box is wound using a keyhole found on the bottom of the base. The music box functions and the original key is included. The music itself is quite charming. We can send an audio file of the song on request. The humidor is in good antique condition. Only one door opens with the mechanism, the other doors open manually. One door is missing the cigar-holding rings on the inside. There are a couple of cracks in the base, some nicks and scuffs, and some damage to top wood panel. Antique French Cloisonné Bronze FAP Humidor Tobacco Cigar Box BLUE Big

This generous sized early 1900s table top humidor is crafted of bronze with delicate golden cloisonné designs against a ground of rich cobalt blue and measures 4 tall x 9 3/8 x 6 ¼ overall. The fitted interior is lined with teakwood or similar dark exotic hardwood and the exterior boats stylized fleur de Lis set against a background of tightly coiled calyx scrolls. Its slightly domed/cushion form lid bears a large FAP monogram in the center. Probably French, it is in very fine condition with one tiny, pinkie-tip indentation in the metal on the lower right front corner (see close-ups) having NO enamel loss. Its interior has removable dividers having two compartments: 5 ½ deep x 5 3/8 and 3 1/8 wide. One divider is missing. There are no makers marks. Majolica pheasants on the sides that serve also as pipe holders, decorative handle at the top in the shape of pheasants. The humidor is covered in suede leather and hand stitched. There’s a hairline crack on one of the pheasants on the sides but it looks like it’s been there for a long time and does not compromise the integrity of the piece. A great item for the collector.
