This is a large and rare figural humidor featuring a man smoking a cigar in a purple cap. It measures 9.5 inches in height and 7 inches in width. The humidor is vintage and was manufactured in Germany. It is designed to store cigars and would make a unique collectible item for tobacco enthusiasts or collectors of antique and vintage pieces. 1900’s Majolica Tobacco Humidor, Handsome Gent Figural Tobacciana. 1900’s Antique Austrian Majolica Tobacco Humidor, Handsome Gentleman Of Color. No Major Cracks, Repairs. No chips around the rim. Made in Austria and parts of what is now modern Germany and are often called Berlin Majolica. Most of the originals were made from about 1880 up until the first World War, ca. 1914, when production ceased. The difference between the majolica originals and the Reproductions are the type of clay and the glaze. This distinctive color is obvious in the unglazed bases and the unglazed rims of the lid and top rim. By contrast, the original majolica glazed pieces are made of a nearly pure white clay. The white clay of originals is apparent in the unglazed bases and rims as well as through the nicks and chips almost always found on vintage humidors. 6.5″ Height including lid 5.75″ Length at Base 4 Width at Base.

Beautiful an d Old Majolica Elephant Figural Tobacco Jar Humidor, 6 3/4″H x 6″ approx. We guarantee NO reproductions of any kind. This is a very nice majolica elephant humidor. Except a couple of small professional repaired chips to the inner rims as seen in the pictures, it has no crack or hairline and is relatively clean. Like most antique majolica, it has some crazing and discoloration. This humidor is being offered in as is due to the small repairs. Any question, please ask. Please disregard the lighting.

Antique Majolica Elephant Figural Tobacco Jar Humidor – 19th Century-RARE! These figural majolica animal tobacco jars were given out as promotional gifts at country fairs. Most were produced in small potteries in the Bohemia area of Austria and Germany and were not marked. This piece stands approximately 6 1/2″ in height and 5″ in width. A few spots appear to have been touched up. I have zoomed in on all imperfections and photographed them. Please review all photos. Vintage and used items may show typical wear from age and use including light scratches or scuffs, tarnish, variations in color or crazing from age.
