Measures approximately 9 3/8 inches tall, 6 1/4 inches wide, and 6 7/8 inches deep. Dog weighs approximately 2 pounds, 5 ounces by itself. Beautiful antique hand carved figural dog humidor / container. Dog has beautiful hand carved details to face, paws, hair, and even including a red collar with stitching. Dog has inset glass eyes. Dog resembles a dachshund, Labrador, or some other type of hunting or long nosed / shorthair breed. No artist signature found, but both halves have a carved X X on their rims. Surface wear appropriate for its age as seen in pictures. Original patina has not been cleaned. Body of piece has a natural wood stained surface and is a dark brown / near black color. A break in the wood is present on back of dog’s head at the area where hinge is attached. Broken chunk of wood is no longer present and only three screws are attached. Hinge is functional, but head rotates. Caution should be used to prevent stress to piece when opening / closing. Displays nicely as it is, or new owner may choose to have piece property restored.
