Vintage Cigarette or Cigar Box/Humidor Mother Of Pearl and/or Lacquered Wood. There is some wear at the edges including some nicks and chips, so please study the pictures carefully. The dimensions are roughly 12″ x 6 5/8″ x 2 3/8. I have no idea whether it is mother of pearl or simply lacquered wood. If it is mother of pearl, I don’t know whether it was inlaid by machine or by hand. Please study the pictures very closely. What you see is exactly what you get. There are 3 compartments inside of the box. The right compartment is the correct shape for cigarettes, but it may not be big enough for cigars. The middle compartment is a great size for a matchbox or a lighter the size of your standard Zippo lighter. The left compartment is a removable brass? It may not be brass, but it seems like brass to me ashtray with a big compartment underneath. If you would like more pictures or have further questions please do not hesitate to ask me. I cannot find a maker’s mark anywhere, so I have no idea where or when the box was made. It seems oriental in design, but it could simply have been made in that style by someone in the west. I simply do not know. If it is not marked as brand new, then it is a used item. Please expect any disc and/or case to have some signs of wear including scratches. Please do not expect the item to be in perfect condition unless it is marked as “Like New, ” which I tend to avoid even if the item is in great condition.
