Huge Bronze Figural Orientalist Humidor Ornate and Wonderful! Description: This is a very striking bronze bust! I have seen similar pieces described as orientalist. To me, the features look very much like an American Indian. The head and neck are adorned with an intricate headdress and necklace that look like coins. There are large dangling earrings and the face and neck are deeply engraved with decoration. A single feather protrudes from the top knot. There are traces of gilding on some of the decoration, the coins on the headdress and necklace, the earrings, and even slightly on the lips. The intricate headdress and necklace were cast separately and applied. The head is hinged and opens as a humidor. The entire bronze bust is placed over a brass shell with compartments as shown. Three separate compartments, one with a large insert that probably held cigars and two others. The smallest of the compartments no longer has its insert. The piece is NOT marked, but probably dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. Size: 13″ High to the top knot and about 20-3/8″ at the top of the feather. 12-1/4″ Wide x 7″ Deep. It weighs almost 18 lbs BEFORE packing! Condition: Very Fine Condition, especially for a piece with as much added on detail as this piece has. I don’t see any loss of decoration and no signs of oxidation. AS ALWAYS, I unconditionally guarantee that you will be satisfied. As always, SATISFACTION AND AUTHENTICITY ARE ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED!
