A super neat antique; in very good condition. There are eight trays with two metal clamps that swing into place to hold the top down. Each tray holds 23 cigars and is divided into sections. Age could be 75 to 90 years. Shadow or ghost area of cigars still visible as well as a couple of tobacco leaf pieces. A wonderful addition to your tobacconist collection. The burlwood is a rich medium brown and displays incredible swirling patterns of lighter and darker shades, due to the natural grain of the burlwood. Manning is known for using only the highest quality woods, many of which are rare and quite exotic, for the veneers of their humidors. The wood is not dyed or treated, It is all natural, according to owner John Harding, declaring We believe in natural beauty and staining or treating the veneers only takes something away. The humidor is made in an elegant dome-topped chest form, with a brass lock on the front and sturdy brass handles on the side. Inside the chest are two slatted trays, so the humidor has two levels of storage. Manning humidors are incredibly highly regarded in the cigar world, sometimes described as The Rolls Royce of Humidors by afficionados. The humidor itself is in excellent condition. The wood has no chips or scratches. The hygrometer and humidity regulators are as you see them, still in their boxes. The lock is functioning well and we have the key. The humidor measures about 16 ½ by 11 ¾ by 8 1/2 inches, LxWxH (exterior measurement, not including the handles). The interior trays each measure about 9 7/8 by 7 1/8 by 2 inches, LxWxH. The main issue is that some of the hand carved figures on the front.. And on both sides have damage. The 5 pullout trays are in working order, as well as, the pullout drawer.
