Antique Black Forest Hand Carved Dog Humidor With Glass Eyes Dachshund Lab

Measures approximately 9 3/8 inches tall, 6 1/4 inches wide, and 6 7/8 inches deep. Dog weighs approximately 2 pounds, 5 ounces by itself. Beautiful antique hand carved figural dog humidor / container. Dog has beautiful hand carved details to face, paws, hair, and even including a red collar with stitching. Dog has inset glass eyes. Dog resembles a dachshund, Labrador, or some other type of hunting or long nosed / shorthair breed. No artist signature found, but both halves have a carved X X on their rims. Surface wear appropriate for its age as seen in pictures. Original patina has not been cleaned. Body of piece has a natural wood stained surface and is a dark brown / near black color. A break in the wood is present on back of dog’s head at the area where hinge is attached. Broken chunk of wood is no longer present and only three screws are attached. Hinge is functional, but head rotates. Caution should be used to prevent stress to piece when opening / closing. Displays nicely as it is, or new owner may choose to have piece property restored. Antique Primitive Carved Walnut 5 Pipe Holder Stand Tobacco Cabinet Humidor

This is an original antique (late 19th to very early 20th century) primitive handmade wood pipe stand featuring scalloped top and hand carved walnut shelf to rest five pipes in with tobacco drawer underneath. Walnut was used for the primary wood but I can’t say for certain if it’s all walnut. There are a few chips in the wood, some minor surface wear and staining from age, but the entire piece is sturdy, solid, and fully functional. The wood has a beautiful grain and what appears to be the original finish. The original knob is intact as well. There is a screw hole in the top for wall mounting.

Antique Humidor Carved Wood Skinny Pig Folk Art Late 1800s German for English

For sale is a neat antique hand carved folk art humidor. Looks to be made in Germany’s Black Forest but made for the English market with the phrase “42 pounds with the sty” on the lid and “not very fat” along the bottom. The pig is very skinny with ribs showing. Mid to late 1800s. Just under 9 and half inches tall. Weighs about 6 pounds 9 ounces. Condition: Displays well but has some issues. Has a huge split in the back. Likely from its manufacture and the wood drying out but its still a big split. Smaller split in the front. Both seem stable though. Piece feels tight enough and not moving more. Has some staining in areas, especially in the base. Other areas show wear. The finish is worn off in areas. You see a fair bit of this on the lid. All the loses are pretty obvious in the photos. Good old finish / surface. No repairs or reglues. See photos to determine condition.
