Up for sale is a magnificent, exceptionally heavy antique Imperial German brass tobacco humidor jar dating to around the turn of the 20th century. This piece showcases elite-tier craftsmanship with a dual-part friction-seal design. The Lid: Features a genuine Imperial German Empire 10 Pfennig coin inset seamlessly flush into the metal, serving as a decorative top emblem. Both the Imperial Eagle on the exterior and the denomination on the interior are cleanly visible. The Interior: Features a spectacular, shimmering engine-turned “Sonnenschliff” (sunburst/cloud) finish applied with precision lathe work on the inner lid and floor. The Seal: The inner lip is precision-machined with ultra-fine concentric friction ridges, creating a tight, smooth, nearly airtight closure perfect for preserving loose tobacco or snuff. It features the original air-pressure escape hole at the baseline.
