VINTAGE Copper, Brass &Tin Rumidor Tobacco Humidor/Canister RARE 1900’s Piece. WHAT MAKES THIS A RARE PIECE IS THAT IT USES 3 SEPARATE MATERIALS – A BRASS COVER, A COPPER MIDDLE & IT IS COMPLETELY TIN LINED. I HAVE NOT FOUND ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT. THE INFORMATION GIVEN LEANS IT TOWARDS ONE OF THE FIRST TO COME OUT OF THE NEW YORK FACILITY. This Rumidor is in Excellent condition. It is showing it’s age with a Beautiful Patina. It has NO DENTS or other. A 1920s era copper humidor. It measures 7 ¾ inches high and 5 7/8 inches in diameter across the bottom. There are no dents. The knob on the top of the lid turns, and has three markings on it: IN, ON, and OFF. Inside the lid is 1 7/8 inch diameter cylinder with 5 holes on the side. Turning the knob on the top adjusts the holes from being completely open to completely closed, adjusting the humidity inside. The knob turns, but is a bit stiff. The bottom of the cylinder inside the lid is stamped with U. OFF THE RUMIDOR CORPORATION NEW YORK CITY. The humidor is tin-lined inside and has age spotting.
Antique Figural Pottery Humidor or Tobacco Jar A Man with Feathered Hat and Cigar. For Your Figural Humidor or Tobacco Jar Collection. Description: This is a very nice size antique figural humidor in the form a man wearing a hat with a blue feather and having a cigar stub in his mouth. The man is wearing a gray blue jacket with a white shirt under it and a red tie. He has a moustache and blow hair tufts coming out from under the hat. The hat itself is a small brimmed hat reminiscent of Tyrolean hats (Austria). Again the hat has a blue colored feather and a blue colored rope around the base of the high part with two balls which can be seen below the feather. He has blue eyes and red colored lips. The man has a nice colored face in beautiful flesh tone. This pottery jar is glazed in very vivid colors and shows great detail. The man has red cheeks and red lips. The entire piece is made of pottery and the top of the hat is the lid. This is a rather nice antique Art Pottery Figural Humidor. Please review photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Mid to late 1800s. Size: 5 1/2″ by 4 1/2″ at the base and 7 1/4 at its highest. Marks: Impressed on the bottom of the base the numbers “24” and what looks like “7634” but the number is too faint to make out with absolute certainty. Distinguishing Characteristics – Most Interesting About The Piece: Truly a nice old figural tobacco jar. Condition: Humidor is in great condition given its age and utilitarian function. It has no repairs or crazing. It does have several small chips at the edge of the rim of the bottom piece. It also has a long (about 1 1/4) along the front the edge of the bottom piece. In addition, the base has some soiling at its edge and one chip at the back right corner. It also has a small chip at the man’s jacket collar, another small one on his ear, and one on the bottom edge of the lid all of which can be seen in the photos. However, the piece is solid and in great shape after being around for over 100 years. The piece is great looking and very rare.
