Antique Circa 1880s Japanese Carved Hardwood Skull & Snske Tobbaco Jar Rare. Here we have an original late 1800s early 1900s Japanese Meiji period carved wood skull humidor tobacco jar. These are fairly uncommon and this is a nice example. The wood looks to be of high quality, and it has a nicely aged patina. Measures approximately 8 inches high with lid in place and 3 ½ inches wide and 4 ½ inches deep. Condition: Lovely antique condition as pictured. Up for sale is an Antique Majolica Clown Humidor of Austrian or German manufacture, marked 8350 and is 6 inches tall. These humidors were popular from the late 1880s until the beginning of World War I (1914), when most potteries closed throughout Europe. It is in very good condition with his left shoe chipped and interior crazing. The paint colors are bright and the mold work is detailed. The lid is the clowns face and head. He is wearing a jesters cap and a ruff. There is an oriental clowns face painted on the front of his body/costume. 1880’s Continental Majolica Owl Cigar Jar/Tobacco Jar Tobacciana

Did some research and found it listed as an 1880s continental cigar/tobacco jar. In amazing condition, considering its age. Stands approximately 7 high, and displays beautifully! Does has some old chips on the lid (please view photos) and a chip w/a hairline crack on the inside of the body (see photos). Has incised numbers 6028 and 46 on the bottom of the piece. An amazing piece to add to your. Vintage items, including glass, can show signs of wear (surface scratches, chips) or manufacturing flaws (straw marks, burst air bubbles, wrinkles). I make every attempt to photograph and identify any issues with the items that I sell.
