Beautiful, antique wooden Smoker Stand Ashtray with cabinet/humidor and handle for easy moving. The original paper label with “A “Cushman Product No. Bennington, Vermont is still affixed to the underside. “Pat Appd For” is etched into the wood on the underside as well. Ornate, decorative design on the door. Has two metal cigarette/cigar holders. Felt-lined spot for your favorite ashtray (I don’t believe they originally came with an ashtray, there was just a place for one). I have added a very nice, vintage Mid century handcrafted Bovano enamel over copper ashtray made in Cheshire, Connecticut. Ashtray is in excellent condition! It fits nearly perfectly in the round, ashtray spot. It’s a tad smaller than the spot, however. Sides can hold newspapers, magazines, books. Excellent antique/vintage condition for its age. All measurements are approximate. 27.50″ x 13.25″ x 9.25. Handle measures:12.50. Measurements inside humidor: 8.50″ x 7.75″. Ashtray measurements: 4.75 x. I’m told these were made out of mahogany, but I’m not 100% sure about that. Minor issues but nothing like what you would expect of an item like this that is apx. 100+ years old, but I do my best to list and disclose every imperfection that I see so you can get the whole picture. In my opinion, however, none of the following things are major. Things that occur with use and age. History of the H. The company began making mission-style furniture in 1901. By the end of the’20s, the demand for these smokers waned. Please read through entire description and view ALL photos. Scuffs and scrapes to the wood throughout. A couple burn marks to the wood around the ashtray from cigarettes, cigars, etc.. The stand is slightly wobbly, and the side pieces, that would hold newspapers and such, are loose. The door closes and stays closed, but it has a worn spot/groove on the top of the door from being opened and closed, so the door will push through when you close it. Once you pull it back slightly, it gets into the metal piece that is there to keep the door closed, and it stays closed. Minimal rusting to the metal parts. In my opinion, it may not actually be rust, but it’s just blackened from the smoke from where cigarettes and cigars were set down during use, I can’t be sure though. It definitely doesn’t have the color of rust. The matchbox holder/striker seems to be the same way. Please just look at the photos to get a better understanding of it. There are scuffs and scrapes to the wood, and on the very back it appears the wood is slightly puffed up in 3 small spots and may be separating from the rest of the wood. It hasn’t peeled off though. They just look like small, dark streaks (see photo #9). It could use a polishing. All I did was dust it off. Please read the following as it contains important information! I don’t do repairs of any kind. Your item will be in the same state that I found it in. The only thing I might do is brush off excess dust, wipe them off with a soft cloth, or sanitize earrings.
